Minister mourns Kano athletes killed in auto crash

The Minister of Police Affairs, Senator Ibrahim Gaidam, has expressed sorrow over the loss of young athletes from Kano State who died in a road accident while returning from the recently concluded National Sports Festival in Ogun State.

The Chairman of the Kano State Sports Commission, Umar Fagge, who confirmed the incident, said many other athletes sustained various ddegreesof injuries following the fatal accident on Saturday.

He explained that the bus conveying 30 athletes fell from the bridge, leading to the death of the 20 athletes.

In a condolence message on Sunday, Gaidam extended his sympathies to the government and people of Kano State, as well as the bereaved families, describing the incident as a national tragedy that has left the entire country in mourning.
