Olubadan: We’ve lost a peace-loving monarch – Ibadan Baales

The Association of Ibadan Traditional Baales, on Tuesday, paid a condolence visit to the Palace of the Olubadan to commiserate on the demise of the 43rd Olubadan of Ibadanland, Oba Owolabi Olakulehin.

The PUNCH reports that Oba Olakulehiun joined his ancestors in Ibadan in the early hours of Monday.

A statement by the Chief Press Secretary to the late Olubadan, Gbenga Ayoade in Ibadan, the state capital, on Wednesday, the Baale Kinabi village in the Ido Local Government Area of the state, Bashiru Adisa, who spoke on behalf of others, described the late Olubadan as “a disciplined, courageous and peace-loving monarch.”

While welcoming them to the palace, Oba Rashidi Ladoja solicited their “unalloyed support for the new Olubadan.”

Represented by the Ekerin Olubadan of Ibadanland, Oba Amidu Ajibade, Oba Ladoja “admonished them to allow peace to reign in Ibadanland and do away with any act that can tarnish the good image of both the Olubadan and Ibadanland.”

Earlier in his introductory message, the Maye Olubadan, Senior Chief Lekan Alabi also enjoined sons, daughters and residents of Ibadanland to contribute their quota to move Ibadanland forward and make progress, unity and development of Ibadanland their top priority.

Some members of the Olubadan Advisory Council, High Chiefs, some Mogajis, Baales, and the Iyaloja of Ibadanland Chief (Mrs) Oyinlola Abiola Ameringun were present at the meeting, among others.
