The Omooba Dotun Babayemi Campaign Organization has distanced its principal from any perceived disrespect toward the throne of the Ataoja of Osogbo, Ọba Jimoh Oyetunji Olanipekun Larooye II.

In a statement released by its Director of Media and Publicity, Kayode Oladeji,  the group condemned any immoral acts toward the monarch, emphasizing that their principal, a Gbongan-born prince, holds every monarch in high esteem.

“Our Principal, a Prince of the ancient town of Gbongan, holds traditional rulers in high esteem, and will never be found encouraging or condoning insults to any royal stool, let alone denigrating the highly respected Ataoja of Osogbo.”

“We, therefore, totally condemn any frontal or subtle insult to the revered Kabiyesi, and dissociate ourselves and our Principal from anyone who follows this path,” it stated.

The group further stressed that Yoruba, as a race deeply rooted in culture, has respect for elders and, more importantly, traditional rulers, adding that the term “Omoluabi” associated with their lineage signifies being respectful and exhibiting good character at all times.
