Nigerian music artist Terry Apala has sparked conversation with his recent comments about women and public gyms, revealing that he would never allow his partner to attend one.
Speaking during an interview on Echo Room hosted by reality TV star Teddy A, the Apala Disco hitmaker claimed that many women frequent gyms not for fitness purposes, but to socialize, make videos, and attract male attention.
“I won’t allow my partner to go to the gym,” he said. “I used to be a member of iFitness VGC, so I’ve seen what happens there. Many ladies today just go to the gym to vibe and make videos—they’re not really there to work out.”
Terry further alleged that some gym-goers, both men and women, attend for reasons unrelated to fitness. “If they were serious about working out, they wouldn’t be so focused on making videos,” he added. “Some women go there to seduce men, and some men go there to chase women. I’m speaking from experience.”
He recalled similar experiences at another gym in Megamound Estate, claiming that “a lot of girls go there just to do all sorts of things.”
While acknowledging that some women genuinely go to the gym to stay fit, Terry Apala maintained that many others simply “go there to enjoy the vibe.”
