Popular Nigerian gospel singers Nathaniel Bassey and Victoria Orenze have joined global voices in mourning the tragic death of American conservative activist and media personality, Charlie Kirk, who was fatally shot on September 10, 2025, while speaking at Utah Valley University.

The incident occurred around 12:20 p.m. in a student courtyard during a public event secured by six university officers. The sudden attack has sparked global outrage and a wave of tributes across political and religious communities.

Nathaniel Bassey, in a brief but emotional post, wrote:
“Pained. Rest in the Lord, Charlie Kirk.”

Victoria Orenze, known for her fiery and prophetic messages, expressed deep grief while reaffirming her Christian faith and calling for boldness among believers. She wrote on Instagram:

“TRUTH CANNOT BE KILLED! TRUTH CANNOT BE SILENCED! TRUTH CANNOT BE STOPPED!
Charlie Kirk, a true soldier of CHRIST, is with THE TRUTH (JESUS CHRIST)!!! What glory!
Satan, for every time you try and an army rise instead! WE ARE NOT AFRAID!!!!!
His wife, children, and family are wrapped by the comfort of the HOLY GHOST in JESUS’ name!
We are clearly in the last days, Believers!!! We must boldly stand for JESUS CHRIST (THE TRUTH)!!!!!!!
We can’t play church anymore!!!! These times were foretold! John 16:2.”

Kirk, aged 31, was a close ally of former U.S. President Donald Trump and a prominent voice in American conservative politics. Through his organization, Turning Point USA, he played a pivotal role in mobilizing young Republican voters and promoting conservative values on college campuses across the United States.

In honor of Kirk, former President Trump ordered that flags be flown at half-staff, while blaming the incident on what he termed the “radical left.” He called the attack not only a national tragedy but also a direct assault on free speech and conservative ideals.

Meanwhile, law enforcement agencies are still searching for the perpetrator. CCTV footage of the suspect has been released, and both the FBI and ATF are assisting local authorities in the ongoing investigation. Utah Governor Spencer Cox has hinted that capital punishment could be considered if the shooter is apprehended and convicted.

As tributes continue to pour in from political leaders, faith communities, and young conservatives around the world, the death of Charlie Kirk has reignited debates about political violence, freedom of speech, and the safety of public figures in deeply polarized societies.
