Actor Stanley Ontop Accuses NAPTIP of Kidnapping, Converting Christian Children to Muslims

Popular Nollywood actor and activist, Stanley Ontop, has accused the National Agency for the Prohibition of Trafficking in Persons (NAPTIP) of illegally taking children from an orphanage in Delta State to Kano State.

In a series of posts shared on his Instagram page on Tuesday, the actor claimed that some NAPTIP officials invaded Happy Home Orphanage in Asaba on Sunday, June 15, 2025, and took away children aged between 13 and 17 years old.

Stanley wrote:

“Some officials from NAPTIP came to Happy Home orphanage in Asaba with a white Hummer bus around 2 p.m. They left with 8 children without any official documents.”

He further alleged that:

“These NAPTIP officials took the children to the North, changed their names to Muslim names, and forced them to go to the mosque and read the Qur’an. If they refused, they were beaten like illegal refugees. This has happened, and no one is saying anything? Not the government, not the women affairs ministry, not the SSAs, not even the First Lady. Only we, the activists in Delta State, are speaking out.”

In a viral video circulating online, the Chairman of the orphanage, Christopher Nwokoye, also confirmed the incident. He said he wasn’t at home when it happened but later found a small note left by the officials.

“When I saw the note, it said it was from NAPTIP Oka,” he explained. “I rushed to the D Division police station, but the DCO there said they didn’t send anyone to the orphanage. On Monday morning, I went to the NAPTIP office at the Federal Secretariat in Oka. I met their head of duties, and after showing him the note, he told me the team came from Kano, not their office.”

As of now, there has been no official statement from NAPTIP or any government agency regarding the incident.
