Babayemi Visits Iwo Fire Scene, Encourages Victims

A popular and the leading gubernatorial aspirant of All Progressives Congress (APC) in Osun State, Omooba Dotun Babayemi, took time off on Friday, to visit the scene of fire incident at Iwo where properties worth millions of naira were lost.

Babayemi who personally met with the victims of the unfortunate fire incident led by Alhaji Ganiyu Fatai, sympathized with them for the unfortunate incident.

Upon seeing the charred rubbles at the scene of the incident occasioned by the inferno which consumed the area leading to the destruction of property and various goods, the Gbongan-born Prince who was deeply touched by the incident, lamented the losses recorded.

“Without mincing words, this is an unfortunate occurrence which no one can ever pray for. As painful as it is, we thank God that no life was lost to the inferno which destroyed properties worth millions of naira” he said

The governorship hopeful charged the government to be proactive in deploying mechanisms that could be of help to mitigate the effect of unforeseen disasters.

In addition, Babayemi advised that massive awareness drive be used by the government and stakeholders to sensitise the people about ways of preventing things that could encourage disasters; stressing, This is of strategic importance to curtailing the effects of unforeseen mishaps”.
