As Babayemi moves to reach all 332 Wards of Osun – Adekunle Ademola

When Omooba Dotun Babayemi declared at the Osun State Party Secretariat of the All Progressives Congress (APC) that his consultation train would reach the 332 Wards in Osun State, he must have sounded delusional to people who did not understand his depth of passion for inclusive development.

However, the Ireti Osun team, peopled by men and women of deep conviction, who share Dotun’s dream of a progressive, all-inclusive, and visionary government for Osun State, stood firmly with him as the journey to visit every Ward began.

The Ward Consultation phase of Dotun Babayemi’s consultation across Osun State was designed to serve several purposes, including but not limited to the following:

a. Enlightenment of rural dwellers on the efforts of President Tinubu to stabilize the economy
b. Establishment of strong communication channels with the people of the grassroots
c. Physical assessment of the true needs of the people, for policy planning
d. Appreciation of the daily realities of people who live in areas lacking government attention, and
e. Re-awakening of APC loyalists across the nooks and crannies of the State

As Dotun put it in all conversations with his team, “governance is more productive when it works with the people of all ages, classes, and tendencies.” Based on this simple idea of governance, he continues to build bridges between the leaders and the led, to ensure that the State is one strong, indivisible, and formidable entity that can serve the interests of everyone, no matter where they reside.

Dotun Babayemi’s political ideas, shared by the thousands of stakeholders who drive the Ireti Osun vision, are built on the belief that the approach to true development must be bottom-up, with wards serving as the launchpads for home-grown solutions driven by the people themselves.

In every one of the 251 wards he has visited out of 332, he never forgets to offer a warm handshake to every person he meets, reassuring them of the respect he has for them, no matter their status, and the value he places on their ideas for the development of Osun.

Through challenging terrains, Dotun and the Ireti Osun team have continued to reach the nooks and crannies of Osun State, working hand in hand with the people to plan development that works for every strata of the State.

As he moves to reach all the 332 wards of Osun State, the prospects of inclusive governance continue to rise, with Babayemi leading the charge towards a new glorious era for the State of the Living spring.
