Fifteen farmers from Ungwan Nungu community in Bokana Ward of Sanga Local Government Area of Kaduna State have been abducted by gunmen while returning home from their farms.
The incident, which occurred on Saturday, November 29, 2025, has heightened tension in the area as families await updates on the whereabouts of the victims.
Reacting to the abduction, the member representing Jema’a/Sanga Federal Constituency in the House of Representatives, Daniel Amos, described the attack as “cruel, senseless and deeply regrettable.”
In a statement on Tuesday, Amos said the incident underscores the worsening insecurity rural communities continue to face.
“Our people deserve to live without fear. Targeting peaceful, hardworking community members is unacceptable and must not be tolerated under any circumstance,” he said.
The lawmaker urged residents of Ungwan Nungu and neighbouring communities to remain calm and avoid actions that could escalate the situation.
He appealed for vigilance and cooperation with security agencies.
Amos also called for a coordinated security response to ensure the safe return of the kidnapped victims.
“I call on the security agencies to leave no stone unturned in the search for the abducted persons.
“We expect intensified surveillance, intelligence-driven operations and the prompt arrest and prosecution of the perpetrators,” he stated.
He expressed solidarity with the affected families, assuring them that efforts were underway to secure the release of the victims.
“All of us feel the pain of the families. We will continue to push for every necessary action until the victims are safely reunited with their loved ones,” he added.
Amos reiterated that the safety and well-being of constituents remain his top priority, insisting that communities must not lose hope despite the rising security challenges.
