ADC not threat to PDP in Bauchi– Party chieftain

A chieftain of the People’s Democratic Party, Bala Chiroma, has allayed the fears of his party’s supporters that the new party coalition of the African Democratic Congress would be a threat to the ruling PDP in the 2027 election in Bauchi State.

In an exclusive interview with journalists in Bauchi, Chiroma, who is equally the Senior Special Assistant on Youth to Governor Bala Mohammed, said ADC can never be a threat to PDP in Bauchi or even Nigeria.

According to him, “ADC is not a party like its counterpart, the All Progressives Congress. It is just like a union or association, as their name implies – an alliance of political parties, but not a party like the People’s Democratic Party with its complete structures in all the 774 local government area councils.

“Only PDP has existed since its creation in 1998 and has never changed its name or allied with any political party.

“All its members are under the umbrella of the party, unlike APC and now ADC, which were all brainchildren of PDP – those that left the party due to their selfish interests.”

Chiroma further observed that if with only one year left before the 2027 general elections across the country and the party (ADC) is unknown even to the common man on the streets in Nigeria, he thus queried how the ADC plan to win elections without a single structure on the ground across the 774 LGAs in the country?

While reminding the electorate and the PDP supporters that many of the ADC members were formerly members of the PDP who had benefited greatly from the party that had equally done so much for them in terms of the present status and limelight that they currently enjoy, the PDP chieftain thus dismissed them as tactless, wondering why they decided to join the opposition and gang up against the PDP.

Chiroma believes that the only party that can save Nigeria from its current situation is the PDP.

He said, “I’m calling on Nigerians to forget about ADC and APC and come and join the only party with a clear vision, mission, and credibility to save this country.”

Arewa PUNCH reports that the Chiroma outburst follows the mass defection from the party to the coalition ADC party in the state.

Meanwhile, the state chairman of the ADC in Bauchi, Hassan Haruna, during an interaction with Arewa PUNCH correspondent, disclosed that the party was still recording politicians with track records of influence in the state, including two ex-governorship candidates – Abubakar Sadiq and Halliru Jika.
