AFCON: ‘It’s just football’ – Lookman on verbal spat with Osimhen

Super Eagles player Ademola Lookman has addressed his verbal spat with Victor Osimhen during the match against Mozambique on Monday night.

Osimhen made headlines for good and bad reasons; the Galatasaray forward found the back of the net twice and lost his temper after Lookman failed to capitalise on a chance to pass him the ball.

Osimhen was seen brushing off Super Eagles captain Wilfred Ndidi as he made his way to Lookman to vent his frustration, warning his teammate against a repeat of his mistake.

Amid backlash from fans who are blasting Osimhen for his outburst, Lookman spoke on the moment, saying it was just football and that Osimhen is his brother.

Responding to a reporter’s question on not having any issue with Osimhen, Lookman said, “Yeah, there’s no issue. It’s just football. It’s always football.”

Lookman added, “He’s my brother.”
