A leading gubernatorial aspirant on the platform of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Osun State, Omooba Dotun Babayemi, has described the demise of the Chief Imam of Islahudeen Central Mosque, Osogbo, Imam Abdulhafeez Haroon Samonigongo, as a great loss to the Muslim community in the state and Nigeria as a whole.
Babayemi lamented that the late Chief Imam was a renowned religious leader whose teachings were impactful on the lives of the adherents, adding that his footprints would never be obliterated.
In his condolence message to the Muslim brothers and sisters in Osogbo, Osun and Nigeria, the Prince of Gbongan in a release from his media office, bemoaned the death of the Islamic cleric.
“He taught his people the Godly way and he lived a Godly way. Chief Imam Abdulhafeez Haroon Samonigongo’s life was meaningful and worthy of emulation. He didn’t compromise beliefs and teachings of the Islamic tenets, ” said the APC governorship hopeful.
While praying for the repose of the renowned spiritual leader, Babayemi condoled with the family, friends and the Muslim community over the loss which has caused grief since it happened.
