In a statement signed by the association’s president, Dr. George Ebong, the doctors said the decision was made during an emergency meeting held on Sunday.

He said, “The government must meet all our demands, both financial and non-financial.

“This is not a personal attack on the FCT Minister or any official, but a protest against a failing health system.”
Dr. Ebong explained that 26 doctors have not been paid, despite over seven months of discussions with the authorities. He also pointed out other problems, including:
He called on the FCT Minister to take urgent action to fix these issues and improve the healthcare system.
