Ghanaian musician, Ladsmid Nathaniel Owusu, popularly known as Lasmid, has claimed that his country influenced the Nigerian music industry.
The Bad Boy crooner claimed that Ghana made most Nigerian songs “blow,” arguing that a lot of Afrobeats songs first became hits in Ghana before being embraced by Nigerians.
Speaking in a recent interview with Hip TV, Lasmid asserted that Ghanaian music fans love Nigerian artists more than their countrymen.
“We love Nigerians so much, even more than ourselves. If a Nigerian drops a song, it will first blow in Ghana before it blows in Nigeria. Most Nigerian songs blew in Ghana before blowing back home.
“The song ‘Who’s Your Guy’ by Spyro blew in Ghana before Nigeria. The song was very big in Ghana before Nigerians caught the wave. The love Ghana has for Nigeria has always been there,” he expressed.
Lasmid’s claim that Ghana influenced Nigerian hit songs has sparked a fresh Ghana vs Naija debate on social media.
DAILY POST recalls that a few years ago there were debate over the two west African countries’ music industries after Mr Eazi claimed that Ghanaian sounds influenced Nigerian music.
Mr Eazi received backlashed and was almost cancelled by Nigerian fans.
