Gombe State Governor, Muhammadu Yahaya, on Wednesday, commiserated with the Deputy Vice Chancellor of the Federal University of Kashere, Professor S. L. Kela, over the death of his daughter, Zipporah Kela, describing the loss as deeply painful and a tragic blow to the state and the nation.

Until her death, Kela served in the Federal Ministry of Foreign Affairs and was on special assignment at the Presidential Villa, Abuja.

Yahaya, in a condolence message signed by the Director-General of Press Affairs, Gombe Government House, said the passing of the young diplomat was not only a personal loss to her family but also a significant setback to Nigeria’s foreign service and Gombe State, which she represented with distinction.

“Diplomat Zipporah died in her prime, with so much promise ahead of her. She was a rising star in Nigeria’s foreign service and a proud ambassador of Gombe State,” the governor said.

A native of Tanglang in Billiri Local Government Area, Zipporah Kela served in Nigerian embassies in Banjul, The Gambia, and Buenos Aires, Argentina, earning recognition for her professionalism and dedication to Nigeria’s diplomatic mission abroad.

Yahaya extended heartfelt condolences to her father, Professor Kela, as well as to her colleagues at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and the Presidency.

The governor prayed Almighty God to grant the late diplomat eternal rest and to comfort her family and loved ones during this difficult time.
