Rob Reiner’s son charged with murder after parents’ fatal stabbing

Rob and Michele Reiner’s son Nick has been charged with two counts of first-degree murder after the fatal stabbing of his parents.
Hollywood director Rob Reiner and his wife were found dead in their Los Angeles home on Sunday, December 14. Both of them died from an apparent stabbing.
Speaking at a press conference on Tuesday, Los Angeles County District Attorney Nathan Hochman said, “Today I’m here to announce that our office will be filing charges against Nick Reiner, who is accused of killing his parents.
“These charges will be two counts of first-degree murder with a special circumstance of multiple murders. He also faces a special allegation that he personally used a dangerous and deadly weapon, that being a knife.
“These charges carry a maximum sentence of life in prison without the possibility of parole.”
While saying that “no decision” has been made yet, Hochman added that the Los Angeles County District Attorney’s Office will take the “thoughts and desires of the family into consideration” when deciding whether to pursue it.
Nick Reiner, who is currently in detention without bail, is undergoing medical clearance after which he will be presented in court for arraignment.
