Senator Natasha Akpoti-Uduaghan has assumed office after the expiration of her six-month suspension.
She arrived at the National Assembly at about 1:10 pm and was greeted by fans at the car park beside the arcade of the complex. She then proceeded to her office, where she sat on her chair and addressed newsmen and well-wishers.
In her address, she vowed not to apologise to the Senate if that is the condition for her return, saying that would be apologising for the injustice meted out to her.
Akpoti-Uduaghan was suspended on March 6 for six months after a dispute with Senate President Godswill Akpabio.
