Tiwa Savage Sets the Record Straight on Wizkid Rumours, Celibacy, and Her Loyalty to Davido

Afrobeats superstar Tiwa Savage has addressed multiple rumours and controversies surrounding her personal life, clearing the air in a candid interview on The Breakfast Cl.

Recently, Tiwa sparked widespread speculation after revealing in an earlier interview that she once dated a public figure who preferred to keep their relationship private. According to her, the individual wanted to remain discreet, despite being openly flirtatious with other women under the guise of “protecting their privacy.” This led many fans to speculate that she was referring to Wizkid, given their long-rumoured chemistry and public closeness over the years.

However, Tiwa has now debunked the assumptions, stressing that although she shares mutual admiration and respect with Wizkid, he is not the celebrity in question.

“Shoutout to Wizkid. I love and respect him, but he isn’t the one I was referring to. I said the person was a public figure, but it’s not him,” she clarified.

While choosing not to reveal the true identity of the mystery celebrity, Tiwa opened up further about her personal life, disclosing that she has been celibate for three years. The award-winning singer said the decision comes from her belief that intimacy should only occur within love, and since her last relationship ended, she hasn’t been in a romantic situation that reignited that spark.

“I have gone three years without sex. It is not something I really like or am crazy about. I have to be in love to have the urge for sex. I have to be with someone for me to even think about it,” she shared, adding with a laugh, “I don’t even have sex toys. Maybe I need to. Maybe people need to get me toys for my Christmas presents.”

Tiwa also addressed her recent fallout with fellow Afrobeats giant Davido. The tension reportedly began in early 2024 after she posted a photo with Sophia Momodu — Davido’s first baby mama — during his ongoing custody battle. Following the post, Tiwa filed a petition against Davido, accusing him of making threats.

Despite the public spat, Tiwa expressed her enduring respect and loyalty toward Davido.

“I haven’t spoken to Davido, but I do want you to know that I love you and I would never betray you or take sides,” she said earnestly.
