Tottenham Hotspur, on Thursday, claimed a narrow 1–0 victory over rivals Arsenal in a tightly contested preseason friendly.
The decisive moment came on the stroke of half-time when Pape Matar Sarr found the net in the 45th minute to give Spurs the lead.
It proved to be the only goal of the match, as both sides struggled to create clear chances in an otherwise cagey encounter.
Midfielder Rodrigo Bentancur picked up a yellow card in the 36th minute for Tottenham, while Arsenal’s Mikel Merino and Spurs’ Brennan Johnson were both booked in stoppage time.
The match offered both clubs a valuable opportunity to assess fitness and strategy ahead of the upcoming campaign.
However, it was Thomas Frank’s side who walked away with the bragging rights in this North London showdown.
