Tech billionaire, Elon Musk and the Department of Government Efficiency, DOGE, have reacted to the US Transportation Secretary Sean Duffy’s decision to cancel grants for seven Universities worth $54million.

Duffy had on Friday announced the cancellation of grants for University of Southern California, New York University, San Jose State University, University of New Orleans, Johns Hopkins University, City College of New York and University of California, Davis.

He noted that the grants were used to advance a radical DEI and green agenda that were both wasteful.

Reacting, DODE, in a post on X hailed Duffy for doing a great job.

“Great job by @SecDuffy and @USDOT
for terminating 7 wasteful grants with award value of $54M and savings of $51M, including,” DOGE tweeted.

“$6M for “collaborative planning to address safety concerns of women and gender non-conforming people”

“$12M for “accelerating equitable decarbonization”

“$6M for “hyperlocal pollution exposure inequalities” in New York City.

“The @USDOT is working hard to cut waste and will have more to report over the coming weeks!”

Also reacting, Musk wrote on X: “Working with @SecDuffy, the @DOGE is glad to stop funding studies to determine if roads are racist.

“This was an actual thing that was happening!”.
