Flights were disrupted on Sunday following the Houthi missile attack on Israel’s Ben Gurion Airport near Tel Aviv.

Newsweek reports that at least six people were wounded in the ballistic missile attack launched from Yemen.

The Israeli Defense Force confirmed this in a statement on Sunday, stating that attempts were made to intercept the missile.

Reports also indicated that explosions were heard near the airport, triggering panic and causing millions of residents to rush into shelters.

“Following the sirens that sounded a short while ago in a number of areas in Israel, a missile was launched from Yemen.

“Attempts were made to intercept the missile and the results of the interception are under review.

Sirens were sounded in accordance with protocol,” the Israeli Defense Force said in a statement.
